2.5D × story-focused command RPG ‘Hi no Koden’ now offers a free trial version for Steam. The full version is scheduled for release in November.

On October 6, independent game developer Konnotobari began distributing the free demo version of the Steam game “Hinokoto Zute.” The full version is scheduled for release in November 2026.

“Word of Fire” is a story-driven command RPG rendered with 2.5D graphics.
The story of three people traveling from west and east toward the same destination × two main party protagonists alternates in chapters.

A unique exploration element of this game is the numerous “key words” obtained during the journey. Presenting these key words to related NPCs triggers a sub-scenario that gradually unravels the story’s background.

Additionally, battles offer highly strategic features such as free ability formations, accumulating status effects, and a unique ‘shield system.’

The demo allows players to play up to Chapter 3, which is the early part of the story, and they are also scheduled to participate in the Steam Next Festival in October. If you’re interested, why not give it a try ahead of the November release?
