A demo version of “Dragon Quest VII Reimagined” has been released! I immediately checked to see if it was recommended for families of Dragon Quest beginners.
I want my family to experience RPGs

This game is a remake of Dragon Quest 7, which was released as a PlayStation software in 2000. I played it at the time, but I hardly remember it. It seems to have been unnecessarily long. I don’t think it’s a highly rated work in the series.

But as soon as I saw the PV of this work, I thought that this might be fun with my family.

This is because it has a miniature-like atmosphere and is cute overall. Doesn’t it look like 2D Zelda in recent years?

My family has no experience with RPGs. I’m interested in Dragon Quest, so if there’s something good, I’d like to play with it, but the most recent remake didn’t look suitable for beginners, so I was secretly looking forward to this game.
Thankfully, the demo version was distributed, so I decided to actually play it and see if I could recommend it to my family.
It’s troublesome to start

When you start it, you will first enter your name in the adventure book and open the preferences. Many of today’s games end naturally as you progress, so this may be the dropout point.

The operation method is also explained in writing. Nintendo games include tutorials for learning how to operate them, so they pale in comparison.

You can like the fact that the next destination is displayed on the map and the story progress is not delayed. If you set the difficulty level to “Easy Play”, you will progress smoothly even with weak equipment.

However, since the story is easy to progress, there is a risk that you will skip the conversation with the mob characters and the search for items, and you will move forward without knowing the real pleasure of Dragon Quest.

When someone who doesn’t know Dragon Quest etiquette plays, they may be more addicted to it if you keep them company at first. It would be great if the game was made that way.
Very easy to play

In addition to navigation with maps, the UI is also easier to understand than before. The visuals will also change properly.

The battles are easy because the tempo is good and there are auto battles. The monsters move well and are quite realistic.

Monsters are symbol encounters (visible on the screen), so you can avoid the battle and advance. If you keep avoiding it, it will get stuck somewhere. Anyway, the movements are cute.

The motions of the characters are also very carefully crafted, and the quality of the remake is like this, such as not only reactions to conversations, but also handing over items properly and petting dogs and cats.

Basically, you just have to fight and progress through the story, but the puzzles here and there are accents to keep you from getting bored. It’s pretty well made.

The story is Dragon Quest, for better or worse. In particular, Dragon Quest 7 is structured like an omnibus, so when it comes to the end and the next step, adults who are tired of RPGs need to lift their heavy hips. Once you start doing it, you can do it.
Premonition of a masterpiece

Needless to say, fans can enjoy it even if they have never played Dragon Quest. It’s a bit unfriendly at the beginning and there are moments where navigation is interrupted, but it may be the easiest game to play in Dragon Quest history, and maybe even in Square Enix history. Dragon Quest, which is recommended to my family, has finally come out.
I’m not in a hurry, so I’ll wait for the sale, but if you can’t wait, I think it’s OK to buy it!
