On August 31, Kodansha Creators Lab announced that the Steam game “BUZZ or DIE” will be released within 2026.

“BUZZ or DIE” is an adventure game set on a variety show featuring death row inmates with special circumstances.

Players pair up with their partners to expose their opponents’ pasts and collect impressions through short videos and thumbnails based on them. The winner is granted acquittal and the “right to grant any wish,” while the loser faces not only a live public execution but also eternal destruction of dignity as a model for slave androids.

The game is divided into two parts: the “Investigation Part,” where you read the prisoners’ conversations and memoirs to uncover your opponent’s past, and the “Thumbnail Creation Part,” where you use the unearthed material to combine images and words matching the theme of the short video to create a single thumbnail. Create eye-catching thumbnails that earn viewer views and lead the battle to victory through viewer voting.

Currently, the only supported platform is Steam, and the price is yet to be determined.
