On Saturday, March 21, 2026, “RETRO GAME SUMMIT Lv.5” (commonly known as “Leggette”) was held at Tokyo Tama Mirai Messe (Tokyo Metropolitan Tama Industrial Exchange Center) in Hachioji City, Tokyo. I also visited the site, so in this article I will give you a brief overview of the venue.

Leggetto is a retro game exhibition that has been developing since 2023 with the concept of “connecting retro games to the future.” This is the fifth time, and this time the venue was moved from the previous Ota Ward Industrial Plaza PiO to Hachioji.
Tokyo Tama Mirai Messe is a facility located a 5-minute walk from JR Hachioji Station, and I felt that the spacious exhibition room on the first floor was filled with the enthusiasm of retro games.

By the way, the “TOKYO INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026” was also held on the same day, and it was a very luxurious day for me to experience a different game event, retro games and modern indie, on the same day.
Lots of Showa game consoles! There are also game consoles older than the author! ?
The first thing I felt when I entered the venue was that Showa otaku atmosphere.
Not only the Famicom and Mega Drive, but also game consoles that the younger generation today will hardly have ever seen, such as Piuta Jr., are on display in actual operation.

At the Mega Drive booth with a handwritten pop that read, “You can test play!!”, the software of yesteryear was running, and I felt that the game culture of the Showa era was still there.

In addition, there is also a booth with a game console with a steering controller called RACING 112, and the fact that these chassis are actually moved and displayed is a feature of this event, which can be said to be a happy space for game geeks in the past.

New retro hard! ?
At the MSX2 “Pixerouge” booth, a new doujin game using the Panasonic FS-A1 was being demonstrated, and it was scheduled to be distributed in the fall of 2026.

I feel the potential of old otaku that new games on retro game consoles continue to come out like this.
How do you make the cassette side and its foundation? There is a factory run by that kind of otaku.
At the booth selling the soundtrack CD of the Mega Drive doujin shooter “Cyber Delta”, I was able to listen to music using XGM PLAYER on the actual Mega Drive with MEGA-CD.

Unfortunately, this software was not sold, and a CD containing music was being used. I would like you to consider selling this software as well.
There was also the legendary title “Cotton”!
In addition, at the test platform of the classic shooting game “Cotton” series, visitors were seen enthusiastic.

“Cotton” originally appeared in arcades in 1991, and in 1993 the X68000 version was released in the series, and the X68000 version is still loved by core fans as the “most complete” version based on the arcade version and refined the balance.
This is one of the titles that I was obsessed with. Nostalgic…
Goods, CDs, doujinshi, and merchandise sales are also available.
There was also a booth where stuffed animals commemorating the 40th anniversary of “Ninja Jajamaru-kun” were piled up, and a sales booth was selling retro game arrangement CDs “Out Line” and “Valkyria’s Beautiful Song”, and there was content that core fans would appreciate.

There are plenty of highlights for stage events
The stage event “REGET CONNECT” was also held at the venue, and there were many highlights, including Na Takahashi, anime producer Yuji Matsukura, YouTuber SheNa, and game center manager Ikeda Minorok.
“How far is retro games?” “How to connect retro games to the future?” I think one of the major attractions of this event is that it is not just a nostalgic event, but also has a perspective on cultural inheritance and the future.

If you like retro games, it’s worth joining!
I felt that the Retro Game Summit was a very valuable event because it established both a “place to enjoy nostalgia” and a “place to think about the future of retro game culture”.
Exhibitors are also highly enthusiastic about retro games, and if you like retro games, this is a highly satisfying event.
This is! If you think so, please join us next time.
